SyracuseCoE Funding Guide

SyracuseCoE staff research and assemble information about sources of potential funding for collaborations with and among our partners. We encourage our partners to review this Guide and make inquiries of the sponsors and agencies about the fit of their programs with your research, development, and education interests.

We also encourage your feedback about the Guide and welcome additions to it.  We expect this Guide to be a dynamic resource that will grow and change, and will continue to update it as we are made aware of new funding opportunities.

The Guide is divided into seven different focus areas:

The Guide provides summary information about programs and includes links to the funding source web sites. All of these links include information about how to contact program managers. Some of the links also include additional information about awards made in the past. These summaries about prior awards will help one discern program priorities, size of awards, as well as the qualifications of the winning proposal team. There is no better way to determine your “fit” with a particular program, however, than a conversation with the program staff.

In addition, SyracuseCoE looks to highlight solicitations that may be relevant for our partners and collaborators. For highlights of the latest listings, please subscribe to our eNews and check the "Funding Guide" sidebar. All information about these opportunities can be found on our Solicitations page.

Additional Funding Resources

For more funding information, please visit these helpful links:

  • Grants.gov lists federal funding opportunities providing daily updates to an extensive database of grant programs and solicitations.
  • The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority web site includes information about programs for businesses, product development, research and development, and consumer incentives. Particularly helpful on this web site is NYSERDA’s section highlighting upcoming solicitations.
  • For a searchable database targeting private and corporate foundations, try the Foundation Center.
  • The Empire State Development’s Environmental Investment Program (EIP) helps businesses capture the economic benefits associated with pollution prevention, waste reduction, re-use and recycling. The EIP also includes the Scrap Tire Market Development Program, which helps businesses develop new products and processing technologies that create value-added uses for waste tire material.
